The spring and summer seasons are an ideal time here in Brandywine Valley. With all of our amazing gardens in bloom, it is a wonderful experience to stroll through and smell the roses! Make sure you visit Longwood Gardens, the Brandywine River Museum and Simon Pearce, all of which are within ten minutes of each other. For a sense of the history that Glen Mills and the rest of the area has, head north into West Chester, and spend an afternoon examining the rich history at the Chester County Historical Society. Just ten minutes north of West Chester, one can experience the QVC Studio Tour. The American Helicopter Museum is close by too, and is a great place for kids. Adults and children alike enjoy touring the Herr's Food factory, and seeing how they produce their snack foods. Or, you could head south from Longwood Gardens just 3 miles into Historic Kennett Square for lunch and shopping, then off to visit Winterthur Museum and Gardens. And across the street is the Delaware Museum of Natural History. Because of the natural beauty of the open landscapes and the arts and culture there is always something to do in and around Glen Mills! Thanks to historic preservation, land conservation, and sustainable development, many regions remain untouched, and one can see the same landscapes that William Penn did and feel the awe that has inspired generations of artists. Unfortunately this gorgeous piece of the American pie comes with a fairly steep price tag! Homes here, whether they have a historical value, or whether are new, sell well above the national average.
