Right in the heart of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, is the small Amish town of Lititz. This little community is known as the jewel of Lancaster County. Situated amidst rolling farmland and bed and breakfast inns, Lititz is full of natural beauty and charm. Founded in 1756, this community is home to a portion of American history. The oldest all-girl boarding school in the nation was right here in Lititz, and served as a hospital during the Revolutionary War. America's first pretzel factory, "The Wilbur Chocolate Factory" is also located right here in addition to the Heritage Map Museum.

Lititz has an excellent reputation for arts and craft shows. Folks come from all over the county to purchase items made with excellent care and quality craftsmanship. With highlights in the art of pottery, quilt making and furniture, these crafters certainly attain excellence in their skill. Antiquing is also a popular pastime among the locals and tourists alike.

Surrounded in lush, green, meadows, and beautiful forestry, Lititz has much to offer in the way of outdoor recreation. Several lakes, and streams round out the landscape and provide a tranquil atmosphere. Eagles Mere Lake provides for excellent water recreation including boating and fishing. Surrounding the lake is the Laurel Path. Hikers will enjoy this two-mile path while enjoying the sights of streams, boulders and caves and the final destination leads to the "Old Fashioned Beach and Country Club".

The Worlds End State Park is certainly in a class by itself as the untamed wild and rustic comes to life! With spectacular scenery throughout the summer months punctuated by breathtaking fall foliage, this destination proves an excellent choice for hiking, fishing, swimming or pretty much any other outdoor adventure you can put your mind to.

For a day of family fun and pleasure, be sure to visit Knoebles in nearby New Berlin. This is a family owned amusement park with no fence, or even a main entrance point. Folks are welcome to come wander around to their hearts content. There is no fee for parking, admission or even the shows! You can choose to pay by the ride or purchase an all day pass. Don't misunderstand the affordable price to mean there is a lack in quality because Knoebles is home to two of the nations top twenty roller coasters as well as a 1930's style Grand Carousel.
