Lower Merion Township is located just west of the city limits of Philadelphia, and is the beginning of what is known as the "Main Line". It contains mature residential communities of tree lined streets, Sylvan Parks and preserved natural areas, interspersed with dynamic commercial enclaves.

Lower Merion School District has earned the reputation as one of the finest in the region as well as the country. The district provides kindergarten through 12th grade, with 5 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 2 high schools, offering a challenging academic program, along with a variety of extracurricular activities including intramural and interschool athletics and instrumental and choral music at all levels.
