Perkasie Borough is in Upper Bucks County, mostly surrounded by East Rockhill Township, with Sellersville Borough to its west. The area where the Borough is located was part of William Penn's original manor tracts. When the Borough was incorporated in 1879 it had just 68 residents.

Perkasie's park system includes over 44 acres of land, including a municipal pool, a Bucks County Free Library branch, two picnic pavilions, a children's play area, and the historic Perkasie Carousel. The Carousel, located near 3rd Street and Park Avenue, was purchased in 1951, replacing an 1891 model that had hand-carved wooden horses. The building that houses the carousel was built in 1895.
