Solebury Township, Pennsylvania
Population: 7,743
Located in Bucks County
Solebury Township lies along the Delaware River in eastern Central Bucks County, and surrounds the Bucks County arts community of New Hope, a popular tourist destination. During the early 1700s, the first Quaker settlers arrived near Lahaska. The Township has grown from its rural roots, still seen in places like Carversville with its old-fashioned General Store, to a hub of modern culture. In Lahaska, both residents and busloads of visitors search for bargains, on tables in the area's famous flea markets, or in the many antique shops and outlet stores. A 1756 grist mill, Phillips' Mill is two miles north of New Hope and has become known as a prominent showplace for area artists to exhibit and sell their work. South of New Hope is Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, a botanical collection of native plants, with two dozen trails leading through woods and meadows.
