Marion, South Carolina the county seat of Marion County. Population 7, 862. A town filled with tree lined streets, Spanish moss quaint shops and southern charm. A National Register Historic District, there are many old homes, churches and buildings to visit. Main Street provides an opportunity for shopping for antiques, boutique and gift items. There are many family owned businesses, many second and third generation, still located along Main Street. Other shopping includes the Russell Stover Candy Factory Outlet.

A garden tour is available during the spring of the year. A self guided walking tour through historic homes, churches, and government buildings is available through the office of the Chamber of Commerce. A guided tour is available through the Chamber of Commerce on a reservation basis.

Marion County Museum:
Located at 101 Willcox Avenue in the old Marion Academy Building. The permanent collection is excellent and a variety of rotating exhibits is offered throughout the year. Hours are Tuesday through Friday, 9am to 12pm - 1pm to 5pm or by appointment.
