Spring Lake is situated on beautiful Spring Lake in northern Ottawa County, just across the Grand River from Grand Haven. This town began when Canadian Captain Benjamin Hopkins built a mill here on the Grand River waterway to Lake Michigan. First called Hopkins Mill, the name was later changed to Spring Lake when the Grand Haven & Milwaukee Railroad built a station on the lake. It incorporated as a village in 1869. Spring Lake is also proud of the education that they offer. With two elementary schools, a middle school and a high school, your children are sure to get a great education.
