Town of Pelham, New York

Population: 13,000
Located in Westchester County

Pelham, New York

With tree-lined streets and architecturally distinct homes, Pelham is known for providing the stability and comfort of a small town along with the benefits of a major cultural center, just 30 minutes away.

This combination is also reflected in residents who come from all walks of life - from Main Street to Wall Street. They include fourth generation Pelhamites as well as newcomers from around the globe. They are writers, plumbers, teachers, doctors, artists, electricians, lawyers, CEO's, firefighters, bankers, musicians, contractors and scientists.

A commitment to education, the arts, sports and civic responsibility is a hallmark of Pelham. Volunteer efforts and private donations built the Pelham Art Center in 1985 and a new town library in 1995. The schools are a major focal point of interest. It is often said that people move to Pelham for the schools.

With a little over 2,200 students, the School District is comprised of four neighborhood elementary schools (K-5) and an award-winning middle school (6-8) and high school (9-12). The Pelham Schools believe in setting high expectations and providing the necessary support for all its members -from students to faculty and parents - to do their best. The standardized test scores of our students reflect achievement well above both state and national norms. While we take pride in our achievements, we measure our success by our efforts to do better.

The quaint town of Pelham offers local shopping and a variety of restaurants.
