Lebanon, Tennessee is a flourishing community and county seat located in the heart of Wilson County. With a population over 20,000, Lebanon has successfully maintained its small town charm. Located on I-40 and just minutes from Nashville, its convenient location has contributed to a strong industrial base and a thriving economy. Lebanon is well-known as home of the headquarters of Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores, home to Hartmann Luggage and Cumberland University. It is also home to many other manufacturers including Dell Computer Corp. and Toshiba America.

You don't have to travel outside of Lebanon to find excellent shopping and dining. The City has numerous family and national chain restaurants, including Rademacher's Chop House (at Castle Heights), O'Charleys, Outback Steakhouse, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday, and Los Compadre's, and Applebee's. Lebanon's largest retail shopping complex opened in 1998. Prime Outlets at Lebanon mall boasts more than 90 fine discount retail stores and restaurants, including Gap, Nike, Eddie Bauer, Liz Claiborne, Jones New York and much more. Located on Highway 231 South at I-40, the mall has been a tremendous success. The mall projects more than 2.5 million visitors this year.

If recreation is what you are looking for, stop by for a stroll in Don Fox Community Park. The 40+ acre public park includes a 20,000 sq. ft. stockade playground, 60 ft. diameter wading pool, sand volleyball courts, picnic pavilions, and the Cedar City Trail. This 3.5 mile long greenway bike/walk trail follows along a beautiful creek. The newest addition to the park is a playground designed specifically for physically challenged children. And the City recently completed a 56,000 sq. ft. family recreation and aquatics facility. Open to the public, the Jimmy Floyd Family Center has a gym, fitness and aerobic areas, racquetball, huge indoor/outdoor swimming pools and much more. Just a few miles south of the city is Cedars of Lebanon State Park, where 600,000 visitors each year enjoy swimming, horseback riding and camping. For other recreation, visit the area golf courses, lakes, bowling alleys and the City's tennis courts.

The nearby Nashville International Airport is only 25 minutes away, and the Lebanon Municipal Airport accommodates small corporate jets.

Lebanon's busy and historic Town Square is a popular tourist destination. The site of a civil war battle, it is also famous for it's many antiques, gifts and collectible stores. Lebanon's downtown is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been featured in many national and regional publications, including Southern Living magazine.

SHOPPING: Lebanon is nicknamed "The Antique City of the South" with over 20 antique stores in the county to include Mt. Juliet and Watertown. There is also an outlet mall, Prime Outlets, that has over 60 name brand stores. Parkland Flea Market and Shopper's Alley are two flea markets that are open on weekends. The area also has many retail stores, grocery stores, convenience stores, etc.

RECREATION: Wilson County has several very nice public golf courses. There are also 2 state parks for swimming, hiking, horseback riding, picnicking, camping, fishing, etc. and 3 local parks for walking or picnicking. If you want to play racket ball, workout, swim, or do some indoor walking, then the Jimmy Floyd Family Center is where you'll want to spend some time. Wilson County's newest attraction is Monster Racing at Nashville Superspeedway. Book a group or come by yourself for the drive of your life. Named Monster Racing after the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware, you get an opportunity to ride or drive around Nashville Superspeedway in a real race car!

LOCAL TOURS HISTORICAL SITES: Wilson County is proud to be home of the Nashville Superspeedway. This attraction had its inaugural race in April of 2001 and will now offer tours of the facility. It is a 1.33 mile oval, concrete track with the capacity to seat 50,000. When the entire complex is complete it will have a 5/8 mile paved oval short track, 1.80 mile road course, a Legends track, a drag strip, and a clay oval track. There is a brochure available for one to take a self-guided tour of Lebanon and its historical attractions. Arrangements can be made for small groups to tour Cracker Barrel Headquarters. Lebanon is proud to be home of the original Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: The Grand Ole Opry is a 25 minute drive from Lebanon, group rates and transportation by bus are available. Also available is a "downtown tour" of Nashville where a step-on guide will inform you of many areas of interest in the Nashville area. The Ryman Auditorium has a self-guided tour as well as Bluegrass shows on Thursdays. If "cruisin" the Cumberland River sounds enticing, then board the General Jackson for an afternoon of entertainment and food. The new Country Music Hall of fame had its grand opening in May of 2001! This attraction is guaranteed to make you glad you visited. If you love football the Tennessee Titans play at the Coliseum, and if you are a hockey fan the Nashville Predators play at the Gaylord Entertainment Center - all just 35 minutes from Lebanon!
