Gig Harbor Waterfront
The waterfront features and active fishing industry that is the cornerstone of our community. Kimball Drive and Civic Center
Services and shops along Kimball Drive are there to serve you. Gig Harbor's new civic center is located in this area, as well as one of the regions top-rated skate parks
Gig Harbor North, Purdy and the Key Peninsula
This scenic area is not to be missed. Follow the heritage markers which identify historic sites through this area. Pick up essential provisions at a store along Borgen Boulevard before you set out. Points of interest in the area include the Gig Harbor North Retail Center; the Purdy Spit; a natural beach which is a haven for windsurfers, beachcombers, and jet skiers; Minter Creek Salmon Hatchery; the Key Center which includes small shops and restaurants; Home, a tiny village where many of the original pioneer families still remain; Penrose Point State Park; and Joemma Beach State Park.
Olympic Drive and the Westside
This area contains everything you need, from groceries, fashion, drugstores and hardware - you name it. Points of interest include the Olympic Village, Harbor Plaza, Point Fosdick Square Shopping Centers, Gig Harbor Farmer's Market (April-October), and the Public Library.
Rosedale and Fox Island
These areas are known for their historic farms and are renowned today for their picturesque residential and gardening communities.

Gig Harbor has developed into a thriving artist community. The town is home to many talented individuals who live and work in the area because of the relaxed natural atmosphere. The result is a first class arts environment for all. Gig Harbor is home to a huge variety of festivals through out the year in addition to the wonderful performing and visual arts events.
SalmonChanted Harbor
The SalmonChanted Harbor runs from May through October. A special art and auction event, it benefits local environmental and arts education activities in Gig Harbor. SalmonChanted Harbor is a display of beautifully decorated salmon that will parade throughout Gig Harbor from May through October. Fourteen locations will host the artwork within the historic downtown area. Each salmon has been created exclusively for SalmonChanted Harbor by local artists. The event will culminate in an auction of each Salmon to raise money for local environmental and arts education activities in Gig Harbor.
Several exceptional community-based theater groups offer programs year-round, including summer performances held under the starry skies. Encore! Theater offers family theater at Burton Park Theatre in the winter and wonderful musical performances outdoors in the summer. Gig Harbor School of Performing Art's Encore! Theater continues to offer outdoor theater for 34 years and are comprised of volunteer actors who provide phenomenal talent for all to enjoy.
