Jackson is located directly on I-40 between Memphis and Nashville. Jackson is in the center of West Tennessee and is within a day's drive of 75 percent of America's major markets. Rumour has it there would not be a Jackson, Tennessee if it were not for the railroad! Once known as a railroad center, Jackson pays tribute to that heritage with the beautifully restored South Royal Depot. The 93-year old building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is open to the public as a railroad museum, offering tours of the depot and its two cabooses and dining car. It is one of the state's top ten tourist attractions.

Jackson is also the home to Cypress Grove Nature Park, Pinson Mounds State Archeological Park, Chickasaw State Rustic Park and many great annual events.

Jackson boasts a booming economy fueled by industrial growth and expansion. More than 10,000 new jobs have been added to the Jackson/Madison County area since 1990! In fact, Jackson can boast of one of the lowest unemployment rates in the state.

But there is much more to Jackson, another wonderful place is Pringles Park, a structure that seats 6,000 for baseball and up to 7,500 for concerts, is home to the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx, the Class AA, Southern League affiliate of the Chicago Cubs.

Also of note are a number of famous Jacksonians. We're home to "Mr. Blue Suede Shoes" Carl Perkins, famed TV game show host Wink Martindale, Dallas Cowboys football star Ed "Too Tall" Jones, screenwriter Randall Wallace and others.

Jackson and Madison County have a consolidated school system with a curriculum that emphasizes science and arts as well as a comprehensive vocational training program at the senior high level. There are also three K-12 private schools and a K-10 private school. Also in the Jackson area are four universities and colleges: Union University, Lambuth University, Lane College and Freed-Hardeman University.

With all this, you'd expect home prices to be unreasonable, but nothing could be further from the truth!
