La Vergne is one of the fastest growing communities in the state as well as the country. From 1990-2000, the City ? which shares a city limits with Nashville ? grew from 7,499 to 18,687? a 149% increase! Now claiming more than 22,000 people, the city has the largest industrial park in the state and can boast the largest subdivision in the state!
Part of the reason for the growth is the close location of the city to major interstates ? as well as the availability of major city resources in Nashville and nearby Murfreesboro. La Vergne is proud to be the home to international companies such as Bridgestone, Ingram Books, Ingram Entertainment, Waldenbooks, Hollywood Video, Nokian Tires, United Stationers, Quality Industries, Thompson Machinery, Square D and Whirlpool Corporation. Seven miles away is Nashville International Airport and just two miles away is the Airport.
Apart from the great employment, there is plenty to do too! Percy Priest Lake is part of the city, and offers great water activities all year round. Nashville Shores on Percy Priest Lake, offers fun, safe, and affordable family entertainment. Nashville Shores is comprised of four main elements: a rapidly growing water park, a marina/yacht club, lodging facilities and special events.
Nashville is just a short drive away. The Country Music Capital of the World is home to the Grand Ole Opry with the longest running continuous radio music program in the country.
