Hunter's Creek Village, Texas

Hunter's Creek Village is an incorporated suburban community near Piney Point Village and Hillshire Village on the western edge of Houston in Harris County. Earlier in the area's history, German farmers settled in the vicinity and established sawmills to cut local timber. In 1936 a sawmill and a number of dwellings were at the townsite.

Today all that is left of the sawmills are the homes of the owners, and employees, many of them built with the lumber they sawed. The population has grown though, and now sits at a steady 3,900 people, in a village that is actually a city.

New developments are underway in the residential housing areas though, and many new homes have been built in the last decade. Like the communities around it, they are mostly "planned developments" built with the greenbelts in mind. Many of the homes use the most environmentally friendly material as well. Here in the Houston area, any neighborhood with the word, "village" in the name, generally means the city is upscale, and prices for homes here reflect that. The average home price is $1,041,286 while houses range from $362,500 to $2,599,000. In Hunters Creek Village, you will find Single Family Homes, Townhouses and Condominiums.

Commuters love Hunter's Creek Village! Just a short drive gets you into Houston, one of the largest cities in the world! And this is no ordinary city. Most of the communities here spotlight the beauty of Houston, made possible by its proximity to several waterways. Called the Bayou City, Houston is home to more than 10 of these winding waterways that not only irrigate the lush landscape, but serve as green spaces for fitness and nature enthusiasts. Several lakes and bays also provide pleasant scenes of fun in the sun as well as a feast for the eyes.

While in the heart of the city, visit Sam Houston Park, where historical homes are nestled next to skyscrapers, or Bayou Place, a dynamic destination for dining, movies and live entertainment. And don't miss the nearby Downtown Aquarium, offering not only a world of marine life, but also fun restaurants and amusements. A few minutes away you'll find the wildlife retreat at the Houston Arboretum, near Memorial Park.

Head north to visit Traders Village, the country's largest outdoor market, Mercer Arboretum, another back-to-nature excursion, or Sam Houston Race Park to "play the ponies.". The northwest corner of downtown marks Houston's roots, where the original town plat was laid out by the founding fathers in 1836. Many of the residential and commercial façades have been preserved and marked for historical significance in the area designated as the Downtown Historic District.

With great housing, excellent education, a wonderful climate, proximity to Houston and other prominent Texas cities, San Antonio and Dallas among them, is it any wonder that this little city is the haven that it is today?
