The economy of Port Neches is driven by one of the largest synthetic rubber plants in the world and a multi-million dollar chemical plant. Petroleum and marine industries as well as many smaller businesses further encompass the area's business scene. The Port Neches-Groves School District, which consists of 11 schools, prepares students for future positions in these and other fields of employment in the Port Neches area. Port Neches City Park has public boat ramps and a variety of sporting activities.
