One top priority in Rowlett is education. Because Rowlett straddles both Rockwall and Dallas Counties, Rowlett actually has two separate school districts. Both distracts have several schools with exemplary ratings by the Texas Education Agency. Students score significantly above state average in ACT and SAT scores. Administrators are not only proud of their students, but are continually looking for innovative ways to prepare this next generation for the 21st Century.
While Dallas is just a half hour away, Rowlett residents don't even need to go that far for quality amenities. For instance, the sparkling water of Lake Ray Hubbard affords opportunities for windsurfing, water skiing, boating, fishing or simply a relaxing picnic. Every summer over 100,000 folks come to The Wet Zone, Rowlett's famous water park. With water rides, kiddie pools, swimming lessons and more, The Wet Zone has something for every member of the family. Sports enthusiasts love the walking and hiking trails while the first class ballparks appease softball players. Golfers throughout the area enjoy the Waterview Golf Club.
Other community events include the Annual Festival of Freedom every June. It's easy to see why over 40,000 people flock to this quality community event.
