Texas Real Estate & Relocation Guide

Santa Fe, Texas

Population: 8,429

Located in Galveston County

Tucked away in the south-eastern corner of the great state of Texas, lies the growing town of Santa Fe. This town is sixteen miles northwest of Galveston in west central Galveston County. Initially this area grew slowly, but in the last 20 years or so, many young families have moved into the region, seeking good schools, a quieter, slower pace of life, and a safe place to raise children.

Santa Fe serves as a bedroom community to Galveston, Clear Lake, Webster, Texas City, and La Marque; although the town does have some of its own small businesses; including the one and only vineyard and winery in Galveston County! Haak Vineyard and Winery was opened a few years ago and is already winning awards for its wonderful wines.

Home prices come as a shock for those moving into this area from out of state! And the shock is a pleasant one! A large, 2,400 square foot home sells for as little as $103,000. Homes of all sizes and varieties are available. Brand new construction is going up, but most of the homes in this city are built on large lots.

Families love this part of South Texas because of its proximity to the Mexican border, and to the Gulf of Mexico. With perfect weather almost all year round, where the temperatures seldom dip below the 40's on even the coldest night of the year, this region is one of the "hot spots" for tourists.

For recreation, look no further than Santa Fe. With golf, hiking, lakes, rivers, the Gulf, and so much more in between, you will find something to keep you and the family happy! At the end of the day you can dine in the many restaurants offering ethnic foods as well as delicious steaks and fresh seafood just pulled from the Gulf of Mexico.

Santa Fe has become a popular place for people to relocate, especially former "snowbirds". The wonderful, mild climate and its location makes this a perfect place to live.
