Clinton has grown rapidly over the last ten years and much of the traditional farming has been replaced with housing, yet there is a strong desire to preserve and maintain the traditional rural atmosphere. Clinton sits one mile west of Sunset and two miles southwest of Roy on U-37. The residences are dispersed and there is no central business area. Earlier names for Clinton included The Range, Sand Ridge's, The Basin, and The Summit.

Today residents enjoy the benefits and conveniences of larger cities within a quiet, friendly, "home town" atmosphere. Clinton offers the finest in police and fire protection, professional court and office staff, and great service from a hard-working public works department. A professional community development department provides both long-range strategic planning and stringent inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable building codes.

At the heart of Clinton, there is a beautiful 33-acre park, which is the largest and most heavily used park in the park system. This City park includes: lighted, adult softball fields with a recreation and concessions building, little league fields, rest rooms, playground equipment, basketball courts, sand volleyball court, bowery and picnic areas.

Currently under construction there is a new park in the center of Clinton. This is a future home to an amphitheater, bowery and rest rooms, and this 5 acre park is foreseen as a heavily landscaped, pristine area with aesthetic water features and decorative structures.

The climate in Utah makes wonderful provision to enjoy the outdoors. The spring and summer temperature's rest in the 70's - 80's barely touching the low 90's in August, and the mercury stays in the mid to high 30's during the winter months. This of course makes for wonderful outdoor recreation. Golf, mountain biking, hiking and camping are wonderful recreational activities that can be enjoyed for a good part of the year.

Clinton is not far from Salt Lake City. As host to the 2002 Winter Olympics, Salt Lake City has it all! Whether you're looking for a casual evening in the professional sports area or prefer a night at the symphony, Salt Lake City is full of life.

If higher education is on the agenda, both Westminster College and University of Phoenix are among the 4-year institutions. Also, among finer colleges is the University of Utah, which is the largest research and teaching school in the state. This University is nationally known and respected for its medical and law schools.
