Fruit Heights City is one of the best kept secrets in Utah! Fruit Heights lies in the heart of Davis County. It is nestled between the Wasatch Mountains on the east with Kaysville and Farmington as its neighbors to the south and west. Some families were able to get water from springs in the mountains, but many had to use water from Haight's Creek, Baer Creek and irrigation ditches. It was used for culinary purposes, farm animals and irrigation. If it spilled, they started over. This situation continued until 1939. It was then the people voted to incorporate and become a town, and what was known as the area along the "Old Mountain Road" was named Fruit Heights, because of the fruit industry. Today there have been new developments, and modernization, but little has changed in regard to the community feel and the friendliness of the inhabitants of the area. Fruit Heights has retained a rural feel, even though it is surrounded by communities much larger than itself. And therein lies its beauty. It has remained much smaller than the other communities, and so, for those who live here and commute to Layton, Salt Lake City or other places for work, feel like they are leaving it all behind when they come home to Fruit Heights. The spring and summer temperature's rest in the 70's - 80's barely touching the low 90's in August, and the mercury stays in the mid to high 30's during the winter months.
