Norwich Vermont, is located on the Connecticut River on the New Hampshire border. Hanover, New Hampshire and Norwich, Vermont, are at the heart of what is known as the Upper Valley. Hanover, the home of Dartmouth College, has a compact, attractive, and lively business district which complements the College and its cultural offerings. Norwich, just across the River, captures the essence of a small New England village. A rope ferry was the first link between Hanover and Norwich and the towns have been closely associated ever since. Each neighboring town in the valley has a character of its own, ranging from industrial/commercial centers to quiet, rural villages. Norwich is a part of what is known as "The Upper Valley". Both New Hampshire and Vermont share the beautiful Connecticut River Valley and its combination of spectacular natural beauty, year-round recreation, and educational and cultural opportunities. Norwich is home to many quaint buildings and the police station and fire station in particular retain some of the olde-world charm that is a part of Vermont's history. Homes range from pre-Victorian to contemporary and you have a choice in housing too, from condo's to estate homes, from apartments to bungalows. Norwich is also still relatively rural with many charming country roads and a quiet Main Street, and is home to around 3,600 residents. Because of its proximity to New Hampshire though, there are many activities on both sides of the river for residents to enjoy. Norwich, like its English namesake is full of beautiful parks and recreational areas, and like the Norwich of England, has lovely winding walks along the river. If you are looking for a piece of the "Old Country" then look no further than Norwich! Find homes for sale in Norwich Vermont
