Leesburg, Virginia

Population: 18,000

Located in Loudoun County

Leesburg, once named "George Town" honoring King George II, was established in 1758 from land originally held by Lord Fairfax, then renamed for the influential Lee family of Virginia. The town was formed at the crossroads of two important Colonial roads, now Routes 7 and 15, and is the seat of government for beautiful Loudoun County. General George C. Marshall called Leesburg "home" and entertainer Arthur Godfrey resided here - Godfrey Field is named after him and serves as Leesburg's Municipal Airport.

Leesburg, and Loudoun County, offers the best of all worlds - a beautiful, agricultural west and a newly developing east. Leesburg's historic downtown is complemented by planned communities building on the perimeter of town. Leesburg offers outstanding services including water and sewer, parks and recreation, superb public schools, and excellent community oriented policing.
