Washington Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Aberdeen, Washington
Population: 16,461
Located in Grays Harbor County
The City of Aberdeen is located on the southern edge of the Olympic Peninsula at the convergence of the Wishkah and Chehalis Rivers. The history of this area has been driven by the logging and fishing industries, although in the last few years there has been a concerted effort to replace these with an emphasis on tourism and designating Aberdeen as the largest retail center on the Washington Coast.
Handsome Victorian homes grace Aberdeen's hillside residential district north of downtown, and Samuel Benn Park offers tennis courts, a playground, a rose garden and a network of pathways through landscaped rolling hills. The Aberdeen area has a mild marine climate. Summer temperatures between 60-80 degrees are dry and comfortable. Winter has periods of heavy rain and temperatures between 30 and 45 degrees.
Aberdeen is proud to offer a wide variety of big-city services and attractions with a small-town atmosphere. In addition to a number of national and local retail businesses, we have a fine hospital, beautiful parks and athletic complexes and some of the friendliest people in the United States. We have some beautiful neighborhoods with housing prices that are extremely reasonable and a freeway that connects us to the I-5 corridor, which is the main north-south route in the State of Washington. We have little traffic congestion, we have excellent water and clean air and dozens of outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.
We are continuously improving our infrastructure to welcome all businesses that are looking for an area conducive to growth and quality of life. Our schools are topnotch and able to meet the requirements of all children in preparation for their future. If you are interested in beachcombing, bird watching, kayaking, or just quiet walks in the pristine forests please come to visit us as soon as possible.
