Arlington is located in northwest Washington State, and has some of the most spectacularly beautiful scenery in the United States, forest and mountain wildlife sanctuaries, unlimited opportunities for outdoor fun and artistic pursuits, and the best coffee west of Italy. Arlington is halfway between Seattle and Bellingham, about 45 miles each way.

It began as a lumber town with shingle mills, sawmills, and logging camps and today there are still many historical buildings that add to Arlington's small town charm. Located behind the historic log Pioneer Hall on a large acreage with a picturesque pond, is the impressive new museum, which contains artifacts typical of earlier life in Arlington and the Stilly Valley.

Situated near the banks of the Stillaguamish River, Arlington offers a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities, including fishing, river rafting, and hiking. Future plans include Arlington being part of the Centennial Trail System which is a walking, jogging, biking, and horseback riding trail that will one day stretch from Skagit County in the north to King County in the south.

Arlington features a classic hometown downtown, and is the scenic northern gateway to the Mountain Loop Highway. In fact, the town has been called gateway to a number of things. It's the northern gateway to the Mountain Loop Highway and the southern gateway to the North Cascades. In short, Arlington is a gateway to many outdoor activities.

Arlington enjoys a moderate year-round climate, with average temperatures ranging from about 75o in July to about 33o in January. This makes it a great place for those who love to do different activities in all the various seasons.

Thanks to the fact the Microsoft has made its home in Snohomish County, Arlington and the communities within county can offer some of the best public schools in the country! Education is rated very highly here and is well funded, not only by Microsoft, but by other companies in the region.
