Federal Way, Washington

Population: 83,259

Located in King County

Incorporated in 1990, Federal Way is the sixth largest city in the State of Washington. It is located on a plateau between Puget Sound and the Green River Valley. The area is scattered with numerous small lakes and unique wetlands. Nearly one mile of Federal Way's eight miles of Puget Sound shoreline is open to the public. Mountain views are also abundant, with the Cascades an hour's drive to the east, and the Olympics a two hour drive to the west allowing spectacular views of the natural environment (right along the Pacific Coast!)

Federal Way has a variety of housing options available, from apartments, town homes and senior housing to established tree-lined neighborhoods and luxury homes overlooking Puget Sound. Community spirit is marked by the City's 1990 incorporation and is alive in a collection of community, social and professional groups, and a variety of houses of worship. The same community confidence is enjoyed by the Federal Way School District, which has passed maintenance and operation levies consistently for the past 15 years. The District's commitment to world-class skills for every student ensures a quality pool of future employees for local firms.

Federal Way is also a great place to play. Parks, trails, world-class swimming facilities, art galleries and special events, as well as eight local performing arts groups, youth and adult athletic programs, movie theaters and a variety of shopping opportunities are available to inspire the mind and the body.
