Langley, Washington
Perched on a low bluff overlooking the waters of Saratoga Passage and the Cascade Mountains, Langley's quiet streets are lined with historic buildings, flower filled walkways, and "pocket parks." Fine restaurants, shops and galleries are waiting to be discovered. Over 60 Country Inns, B&Bs, and Guest Cottages dot the surrounding area.
Langley is a thriving arts community home to many regional, national and internationally known artists and art galleries. The village boasts numerous fine shops featuring handmade clothing, jewelry, glass and furniture as well as island gourmet items, antiques shops, and book stores.
A stretch of beach is easily accessible from Langley's Seawall Park. Take a beach walk and look for resident populations of Bald Eagles, Herons, and Sea Lions. You may be lucky enough to spot a migrating Gray Whale (most often in the Spring) or a pod of Orcas feeding in the waters off Whidbey.
You can see live theater, dance, and musical performances at the Whidbey Island Center for the Arts or first run movies at our historic 1930s movie house, The Clyde. The Langley area has the highest density of Country Inns, B&Bs, and Guest Cottages in the state. The village is also famous for fine star rated restaurants as well as family restaurants, delicious bakeries, gourmet delis, and an award winning local winery. A wide range of services are available from health and legal to banks, accountants, architects, designers, a drug store, hair salons, barber, and a grocery. You'll enjoy this beautiful village any time of year. It's a great place to spend a romantic weekend for two, or an active vacation of swimming, beachcombing, biking and hiking with the whole family.
