Located in King County

Incorporated in February 1990, the City of Sea-Tac is located midway between Seattle and Tacoma and is the home of the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The city is a vibrant community, economically strong, environmentally sensitive and people-oriented. The airport brings in approximately 13,000 visitors daily, and many stay, dine and shop in the City of Sea-Tac. The city has over 5,500 hotel and motel rooms, the highest concentration in the State of Washington. Both Horizon and Alaska Airlines are headquartered in Sea-Tac. The Boeing Spares Facility distributes parts worldwide from Sea-Tac. That is just the commercial side of Sea-Tac, and there is so much more to the city.

Sea-Tac is home to over 23,500 residents and provides parks and activities for residents and neighboring communities. Several new or renovated parks such as North Sea-Tac Park and Angle Lake Park have been dedicated in the past few years. These parks provide baseball and soccer fields, along with many new buildings and arbor improvements.

Angle Lake Park is also the site of the annual International Festival held in late June each year.
In February 2000 the city celebrated its tenth anniversary. Like any city that continues to grow, Sea-Tac continues to improve in areas in addition to its parks. In 1999, the city dedicated the new Des Moines Creek Trail just off South 200th Street. The city is presently working on the development of a City Center, with a new main street boulevard just east of International Boulevard. A new city hall is now being designed.

Sea-Tac is a thriving, culturally diverse community projected to grow by 60 percent over the next 25 years. About one fourth of the people who live here are employed in manufacturing in the region. Most of the remaining working population is employed in the retail trade, professional services and transportation sectors. More people work in Sea-Tac than live here. The labor force is attracted primarily by jobs in the airline industry and related services. Diversification of job opportunities will occur over the next 25 years as a natural result of population growth and of attracting more manufacturing and distribution businesses to the area.

The leaders of Sea-Tac have succeeded in fulfilling their vision of the future by transforming the city into the key transportation and business hub for the region while creating a first rate living and working environment. The city is a wonderful place to live and work.
