The Village of Barneveld, incorporated in 1906, has an estimated population of 1088and is located in Iowa County. The Village is considered a bedroom community with most of the residents commuting to either the Dodgeville or Madison area. Many residents enjoy the Military Road Bike trail that passes through Barneveld along with the parks in the area. Birch Lake park (main park for recreation) on the north/West end of town, Memorial Park in the center of town, Kittleson Krest Subdivision, Pocket Park between Happy Food and 1000 Island and soon in the Quail Ridge Subdivision. Other recreation is available through the school and outside clubs. Blue Mounds State Park is located approximately 5 miles east and has hiking, swimming and camping available.
