Situated along the northwest rim of the state is North Hudson, Wisconsin. Founded in 1840, this settlement was known as Willow Ridge. However, 8 years later, the named was changed to Buena Vista because the area did enjoy a "beautiful view". With the population influx in the 1850's and 1860's, the name changed to Hudson because of the resemblance of the St. Croix River to that of the Hudson River in New York. The fact remains that anyone passing through the village of North Hudson will still enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding scenery of the St. Croix River. This quaint village has a population of just over 3,000, but there is still much to do!
