Trevor, Wisconsin
Located in Kenosha County
Just 20 minutes west of Kenosha, and about one hour north of Chicago, is the little village of Trevor. This community is really part of a larger one called Salem, and in some ways is a village within a city. Trevor is an exceptionally close-knit district of people. Trevor, Paddock Lake and Salem all share a school district, because the three towns together comprise only 11,000 people. The schools make sure the most recent technology is used, and the teachers are fantastic. There are only a small number of children in each classroom, which makes one-on-one learning an actuality. New construction is underway as the area is increasing rapidly for a number of good reasons - lakes, lakes and lakes! Education is also excellent here, and this is one of the safest regions in the country. It is not unusual to see people walking their dogs on one of the many walking trails at midnight. For families who love to be together there is plenty to do - whether it is a soccer match to cheer on, or a ballgame to watch, there is something for the kids and adults to do all year round! This area is also becoming so popular because of the short commute to Kenosha, only 20 minutes to the east. Some even commute to Chicago, although that is an hour or more drive from Salem. The homes here are very affordable, with the average three bedroom, two bath home selling for $136,000. Many of these homes are built on large lots, and many of them have walking paths in front or behind them. There are also many retention ponds in the area, which means wildlife stays close by. There is nothing better than looking out on a snowy day and seeing tracks from some wild animal who is taking refuge near the ponds. Adventurers ready to bundle up and head outdoors find plenty to appreciate in the austere beauty of the winter landscape. If you like fishing and hunting, you will think you have died and gone to heaven! There are nine lakes in the area, and all of them have fishing areas, and some of them offer boating, skiing and jet skis. In the winter you can still fish, as long as the ice is thick enough! Trevor, along with Salem and Paddock Lake are expanding rapidly, offering so much that families long for - friendly communities, small town feeling, and a sense of community that is missing from many larger cities. Come and see why Trevor is right for your family!
